Remote Support for Underprivileged Special Needs Families
Every 1 in 6 children in Taiwan has a developmental delay — but for families already facing poverty, isolation, or disability, that number jumps to 1 in 4. Many of these families are invisible to the system. Therapy centers turn them away. Waitlists stretch beyond 8 months. Some parents have never been shown how to connect with their own child.
That's the gap Wings of Hope exists to close.
Working with 6 non-profit partners across Taiwan, we identify the most at-risk families and provide them with a full 6-month scholarship to PenguinSmart's remote parent coaching and speech-language program — at no cost to them. Since launching in 2024, we've served 50 families across 15 townships. Graduating families come back with stories of breakthroughs we never take for granted.
Our next goal: 100 more families by the end of 2026. Each family needs just $105/month. We can't get there without you.

Wings of Hope for the Least Among Us
State-of-the-art intervention support for the most vulnerable
We are currently focusing on special needs families with these extra challenges:
- Multiple disabled members in the same core household
- The main caregiver themselves have a vetted disability
- Foster family / single caregiver family with multiple children
- Stay-behind children with grandparents as main caregivers
- Access disparity - the commute to the closest rehab facility is 1 hr+ each way / the family has been on a clinical service waitlist for over 8 months with no alternative support
- Impoverished household
- Identified and referred by non-profit partners as high-risk families
What your sponsorship unlocks
Every sponsored family gets something they've never had: a guide who helps them truly see their child — and a roadmap to transform their relationship from the inside out.
For 6 months, that looks like:
- Twice-monthly 1-on-1 online sessions with a licensed speech therapist and parenting coach, tailored to their child and their daily life
- Personalized action plans — concrete, weekly goals the whole family can follow; no clinical background needed
- 24/7 access to our learning platform — activity guides, video resources, progress tracking, and a dedicated Q&A channel so parents never feel stuck between sessions
- A dedicated support contact for scheduling, platform help, and emotional check-ins
